14 THINGS WE CAN'T WAIT TO DO AS SOON AS SUMMER COMES BACK
After a winter that seemed like it would never end, Spring is finally here. And since springtime means being one step closer to summer - we've officially hit excited mode.
What's not to love? Long days and longer nights, sun-kissed skin, road-trips with the window down. Bring it on. Here are the top things we cannot wait to do this summer.
1. Jump in the ocean
For too long now we've looked at the beach during winter and asked ourselves 'Maybe it won't be that cold?' But it always is. Not anymore! Bring on refreshing dips in the big-blue, sandy feet and salty hair.
2. Ride bikes
Take your bike out more often for summer-spins. Cruise through the hazy summer days ahead and peddle your way to a nice cafe around the corner or to the nearest park.
3. Go bare-foot
Ditch those winter boots and go bare feet! Your toes are dying to touch the earth, so spoil them by walking on grass and sand - shoes free. Goodbye freezing toes.
4. Have a shaved-ice cone
Go on a hunt for an ice-cream van and share a shaved-ice cone with someone or have one all to yourself. Sweet, refreshing, tasty and oh so pretty! A perfect way to cool off during the hot summer days.
5. Take a coastal road-trip
Time to choose a destination near the ocean and take off on a road-trip! No more heater, foggy windows or cold seats. Wind those windows down, let fresh summer air in and let your hair roam free.
6. Go camping
Leave the comfort of your own bed and spend the night outdoors. Camp on a beach, in the forest or on a camping ground - just don't forget to bring mosquito repellent.
7. Spend an entire day by a pool-side
Summer is the perfect time for loitering around a poolside. So start planning an entire day under the sun with a group of friends or even just a party for one. Remember that sunscreen is your friend.
8. Eat a watermelon all to yourself
While the temperatures are rising we will need things to cool us off, this includes the food we eat. Goodbye soups and baked goods and hello to eating an entire watermelon on our own.
9. Have a picnic
Simple and cost-effective - all you need for a successful picnic is a glimpse of sunshine, good company, a nice patch of grass and a durable hamper for all your goodies!
10. Hang out on a roof-top
There's no better view than a view from high up. Find a (safe) rooftop, good company and climb your way to the perfect carefree hang out summer spot. Take in the views and the beautiful weather.
11. Go jetty-jumping
Go hunting for a jetty (a safe one) and jump of it! Then climb back up and jump off it again. Do this until you're all puffed out and your fingers are wrinkly from the water.
12. Climb trees
The spirit of play is at the heart of imagination not our age, unleash the inner child in you and go climb a tree this summer. Swing off a branch and enjoy the views from way up high.
13. Chase waterfalls
Don't listen to TLC when they say 'Don't go chasing waterfalls'. Chase them all summer. If you can find one you're able to swim under, then that's a bonus.
14. Stargaze the night away
