ANNA WINTOUR ON WHAT SHE WOULD NEVER WEAR, RUMOURS AND SELFIES
If you haven’t already seen an episode of 73 questions, you should. Created by VOGUE videos, it’s one of the most light-hearted and endearing projects launched by the megabrand in recent years.
Featuring famous personalities bombarded with a catalogue of kooky questions, the videos are filmed in one take and bring the people we often put up on pedestals back down to earth. They’ve managed to get Sarah Jessica Parker, Danielle Radcliffe and Blake Lively on board, but how receptive do you think U.S. VOGUE’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour was when the camera followed her around the VOGUE office? Quite well actually.
Despite sporting her signature Chanel sunglasses and unwavering, cool disposition, there were some things we learnt about Anna Wintour from her responses to 73 questions:
- Above “chic”, “fashionista” and “fierce” the one word she wants the industry to stop using is “journey”. Budding fashion designers, journalists and PR gurus take note.
- If she could make a documentary about anything it would be tennis. No, that’s not a misprint. Apparently she is an avid tennis player in her spare time and is firm friends with tennis superstar Roger Federer.
- She’d never be seen in head-to-toe black. Despite the fact that there’s almost a cult-following in the industry of designers, journalists and personalities who live and breathe wearing all black, Anna insists that a colour is an essential in her closet and on the pages in VOGUE.
The episode also features a fitting of model-turned-socialite Karlie Kloss, a phone-in from design maverick Oscar De La Renta and a handful of VOGUE employees who, despite what you have been predisposed to believe, are not shown trembling with fear in the mere presence of their boss.
